8/1/2018 6 Comments Silver Appleyard DrakeWe bought our first Appleyard drake on the 16th December from the world's best waterfowl breeder, Graham Hicks. However, the drake was not big enough for breeding so we decided to exchange him with Mr Hicks. We now have a new drake who is around 2 times bigger than the duck: he is a beautiful bird. We will be showing him at Stafford County Show and probably the Federation and National Poultry Shows as well. Here are some photos of him: Let us know what you think!

27/12/2017 1 Comment Photos of BirdsWe have finally managed to take some photos of the new Graham Hicks silver appleyard ducks. They are not amazing photos as they are still a little skittish but very shortly we will try to take some better ones. We have also taken a couple of photos of other ducks on the farm, such as the Muscovies. Two days ago, (Christmas Day) we took a photo of the silver Appleyards and then we noticed an egg by the female, which we believe she laid. We did not notice the egg until twenty minutes later when we checked the photos! This shows that the Appleyard, if it was laid by her and not the Orpington ducks, are very good layers as they lay in December, before the breeding season. Let us know what you think of the photos! Please note that the best photo of the Appleyards is the last picture on the slideshow. You can navigate through the photos using the boxes with pictures beneath the slideshow. 25/12/2017 1 Comment Silver Appleyards Cost AnswerOne week ago we asked you how much our silver Appleyard world-class pair cost us. We were offering a prize: a 20% off voucher for anyone who said the correct answer.
Answer: We paid £200 for the pair. However, we negotiated down from £400. We had one person suggest they cost £200 and one who said £400. So we are awarding both Samuel Jones (£400) and Michelle A (£200) a voucher. You will receive it through email, it will be valid until June 2018. If you did not win, we will be offering a voucher to one winner in the New Year. We will be posting some photos of the Appleyards very soon. Leave a comment if you will be entering in the New Year. Once again, congratulations to Samuel and Michelle. Yesterday, Saturday 16th December 2017, we went to the Federation Championship Poultry Show at Stafford Showground. There were 6505 entries! We bought a pair of silver Appleyards from Graham Hicks, debatably the world's best waterfowl breeder. They were really expensive but beautiful birds! We have not been able to take any photos of them as they were quite nervous but will take some as soon as possible. Comment below and tell us how much you think they are! Answer will be published in 1 weeks time. Did anyone go to the fed?

We have taken four more photos of the buff ducks and new Muscovies and have put them together into this short slideshow. Let us know what you think of these photos! The wait is over! We have finally published photos of our NEW lavender Muscovies! For those who have not read our previous post, on Tuesday we purchased 4 Muscovy ducks and some Guinea fowl. They, particularly the Muscovies, are stunning. The birds were a little shy today so we didn't get amazing photos but we will capture some more tomorrow or on Sunday. We didn't pick them up today as we didn't want to scare them so we have not been able to take a close-up photo of each bird, however we will also do this on Saturday or Sunday. Below are the photos of these beautiful birds: If you would like more photos of the birds, please email [email protected] . We will also have more photos on the blog of them very soon.
